Restaurant Review of Skillet. "A cozy lunch joint near German Village offers daring dishes with big flavor". "Better than darn good was the Braised Beef Short Rib and Smoked Gouda sandwich enhanced by fried sweet peppers. "Best Casual: Skillet, 410 E. Whittier St. Skillet very quietly opened its doors a few months ago on the outskirts of German Village. The eatery serves remarkable sandwiches on a daily basis, and it’s not the same old deli stuff. Instead, it offers concoctions made with, for example, soft stewed beef and serious cheeses (the smokiest gouda, the sharpest cheddar). On a scale of 1 to 10, the quality rates about an 11."
